Grinnell has recently been recognized by PETA2 in their fourth annual
“Most Vegetarian-Friendly College” competition. According to PETA2,
“Grinnell can be proud of the fact that they are among
the best in the nation when it comes to vegetarian and vegan options.”
Colleges were chosen based on student recommendations
as well as feedback obtained through other online sources.
The College Sustainability Report Card 2010 (from the Sustainable Endowments Institute)
has recently been announced and Grinnell Dining Services has once again been awarded
a grade of "A" in Food and Recycling. According to the report, "Dining services sources exclusively cage-free eggs and hormone- and antibiotic-free milk and butter. Local food items are also purchased. Fifty-three percent of recyclable and compostable campus waste is diverted from the landfill."
