The Expanding Knowledge Initiative was one result of our recent Strategic Plan.
The EKI calls for:

• Increased interdisciplinary course offerings
• Second-year retreat for students
• Appointment of three IDS Fellows from among existing Grinnell Faculty members
• Increased faculty size through strategic faculty appointments
• An Office of Interdisciplinary Studies, with a director reporting to the Dean of the
  College and advised by a faculty board
