CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY OF LINCOLN CENTER TO PERFORM AT GRINNELL COLLEGE
GRINNELL, IA. - The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center will present "England 1900-1930: A Musical Renaissance" on Thurs., Mar. 6 at 8 p.m. in Herrick Chapel on the Grinnell College campus.
The Chamber Music Society, featuring piano, violin, viola, and cello, will perform a program of John Ireland, William Walton, Benjamin Dale, and Edward Elgar. Two of the works are part of a CD released in November 2007 by the Society artists, who are one of 12 renowned performing groups of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York.
The Chamber Music Society’s acclaimed performers include pianist Wu Han; violinists Ani Kavafian and Arnaud Sussman; violist Paul Neubauer; and cellist Fred Sherry. Their Grinnell appearance is part of a national touring season.
Tickets are required for this free public performance and may be obtained at the Bucksbaum Center box office, beginning Mon., Mar. 3, from noon to 5 p.m. For Grinnell community members, a limited number of tickets may also be obtained at the Pioneer Bookshop, beginning Mar. 3. Phone and email reservations are not accepted.
The Chamber Music performance is sponsored by the Grinnell College Public Events Committee. Herrick Chapel is located at the intersection of 7th Ave. and Park St. on the Grinnell College campus.
