The Grinnell Magazine wins awards

Fall 2005 Cover The Grinnell Magazine, the College's flagship publication, received top honors in the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District V competition. The quarterly publication edited by Jacqueline Hartling Stolze and art directed by Jim Powers received a gold award, the highest regional honor for institutional magazines. Stolze also received an individual gold award for magazine feature writing for her story, "Defying Darkness: Three Children Who Survived the Holocaust."

CASE awards recognize institutions and individuals that "demonstrate outstanding achievement in the concept and execution of advancement programs and communication." Last year, the magazine, which is sent to more than 27,000 Grinnell alumni, friends, parents, and staff, received a silver award in the CASE district competition.

"This is tremendous recognition as The Grinnell Magazine celebrates 40 years of publication," said Mickey Munley, vice president for college and alumni relations. "It's gratifying for our continued emphasis on communication excellence at Grinnell to be recognized by our higher education peers and by publishing professionals."
