The Grinnell College Soccer Player responds positively to external motivation. However, his real strength and inspiration is derived from an undying love to play the game, a burning desire to achieve success, and a drive to be the best he can be.

Performance reflects attitude
The Grinnell College Soccer Player's performance is shaped through a positive attitude. He thinks he can and his performance reflects courage, confidence, and self worth. Others recognize our team as a cohesive, supportive group of men who are always striving to build up his teammates.

Integrity
The GC Soccer Player is an honest player. He strives to do everything right all the time. He takes no shortcuts. While others save it just for the game, the GC Soccer Player challenges himself to get better every day. He understands a big difference between men is energy and he is willing to hold himself and his teammates accountable to the highest standards both on and off the field.

GC Pride
The Grinnell College Soccer player takes tremendous pride in wearing the uniform. He considers it an honor and a privilege to wear the uniform; and he understands the responsibility that goes with this honor. When the Grinnell College Soccer Player takes the field wearing the Grinnell colors, only the best performance and effort is acceptable. He is prepared to find ways to win even if the score says we did not, but he ALWAYS takes the field wearing the GC colors expecting to win, because his team is prepared to win.
