Environmental Studies - The Concentration
This concentration explores the relationship between humans and their natural environment, and provides a basic background for the rational and discriminating comprehension of environmental issues.

Participation in the off-campus study programs, such as the Tropical Field Research Semester in Costa Rica, OTS, Grinnell-in-London (among others) is encouraged and may, with the program chair's approval, satisfy some of the requirements.

Senior Seminars
This is an interdisciplinary senior seminar for students completing the concentration in Environmental Studies. Topics over the last five years have been: historical ecology, enviromnental history of Poweshiek County, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Africa, and savannas, prairies, pampas and llanos.
